Baqir Sajad Mahmood, a lecturer at the Faculty of Agriculture, the UOK, presented a lecture about his research experience in Malaysia, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Fathel Hassan Al-Sahaf, the dean of the faculty, and a number of professors and students.
The lecture addressed the experiments conducted by the researcher during his period of study in Malaysia. It focused on an experiment to study the effect of the vegetarian and growth regulators on the food medium in the upbringing of callus for two types of grapes (Amber Queen and Cardinal).
The second experiment dealt with testing the callus that was induced from the two varieties of grapes, to the water stress. While the third experiment tested the endurance of the grape branches which were planted histologically, to the water stress. The researcher also brought up the topic of buds’ upbringing of the callus induced from grapes and nurturing the buds on the roots. Then he moved on to the educational system and admission system at the Malaysian universities. Furthermore, he talked about their research methods and the possibility of benefiting and exchanging experiences with those universities.
