The Faculty of Education for Women at the UOK welcomed Dr. Tom Fizi, a scientist specialized in tissue analysis and diagnosis of diseases, from the University of Mount Sinai in New York, America. He presented a scientific lecture entitled (The Dangers of Radioactive Uranium on Humans, Especially the Immune System). The lecture was presented in the presence of the dean of the faculty, Dr. Eman Al-Hilu, as well as a number of university professors and students. Dr. Fizi emphasized on the need to educate people about the dangers of radiation. He also called on scientists and professors to pursue scientific research so as to reveal the dangers of radioactive materials and develop appropriate solutions that confront the damage resulting therefrom. The lecture also included the effects of depleted uranium (DU) on man, the first victim of the impact of radioactive materials, especially nuclear ones which cause injury to the human immune system.
