Asst. Prof. Dr. Ibtesam Abed Al-Kareem, the Dean of the Faculty of Basic Education at the UOK, was named ‘Professor’ on the basis of the ministerial order that was issued by the Department of Research and Development in this regard.
It is worth noting that Dr. Ibtesam Al-Madani specializes in Arabic language and literature, and particularly in Quranic and critical studies. She was appointed Dean of the Faculty of Basic Education in 2009 making her the first woman at the UOK appointed to this position.
She has several published books including: The Structure of the Quranic Text (balanced studies between the ideological, linguistic and technical structures), and Paradise in the Quran (an aesthetic study). In addition to her participation in the dozens of studies and researches at local, regional and international conferences.
She was also chosen as a member in the Trustees’ Board for the Scientist Women Network in the Islamic World during 2010, which emanates from the ISESCO.
