Networks and Communications

Due to the world wide development in network, Internet, and communication fields  and the global attention paid by international companies and institutions to these areas in addition to the urgent need to link the colleges of University of Kufa to each other, the University Administration represented by its President ,Dr. Abdul Razaq Abdul Jaleel Al-Essa, considered  starting one of the largest projects of linking university colleges with each other and establishing a huge database linking the university information and assisting in the transmission of data in the fastest possible time without the need to resort to the old methods of the of manually transferred information, which require great efforts and time.
 

The Proposed Network Type  :

The proposed network includes two phases:

I: The first phase Constructing an internal network at the university and its related colleges, linking departments with each other within each college, which already has been done(As the  financial, accounting, administrative, scientific, Legal department and the President of the University Bureau with computer center.

 

 
II. The second phase includes linking all colleges and centers to the University via an Intranet  Network and setting a main server within each college, which is linked to the main server at the University and microwave is to be used for transferring data.

Server Specifications: Server 2003 with  Isa Server.

Project Period:

It is planned to continue working on the project for nearly two years, as a  result of the weakness of the existing potentials and resources.

 

The Futuristic Planning: In the light of this project, the computer center has started planning to work effectively at the level of the province of Najaf via  planning to connect some of the province departments, due to the good  financial abilities these departments have as well as the promises of providing such financial abilities by the Governorate.
