Instructions of TOEFL ITP test

1- The Listening Comprehensions and criteria of the individual's ability to understand the Standard English  language . 

2- The structure and the criteria of the individual's ability to identify the appropriate standards to write English   .

3- Reading Comprehension and the criteria of individual's ability to understand topics.

1- listening : This section is specified to measure the  individual's ability  to understand the spoken language in standard English .This section contains three parts ,each one has an audio recording  .

A- In the first part , you will listen to short conversation sentences between two people. After every  conversation , you will be asked a question about the conversation you heard. The conversation and  questions are read for one time only. Therefore, you have to listen carefully to the conversation . Then read the right option . Go to the test paper and locate the question number to fill the blank in pencil which is similar to the letter you would choose.

B-In the second part , you will listen to a longer conversation than the one in the first part . After listening to the conversation , you will listen to several questions . The conversation and questions are not repeated. After listening to the questions ,read the four options in the test paper and choose the answer by filling in  the blank that belongs to the letter you would choose in the test paper .

C- In the third part ,you will listen to several conversations .After every conversation , you will hear several questions . As in the previous parts , the conversations and questions are not repeated .You have to read the options  in the test paper and choose the right answer . Then , locate the question number in the test paper and fill in the blank in pencil that corresponds the option you would choose .

2- Syntax & composition: This section is designed to measure the individual's ability in recognizing    the language that would be convenient to standard English . This section has two types of questions:

a- Syntactic structures

b- Composition

3- Reading : This section measures the individual's ability to read and understand short passages that are similar to short passages in subject and style taught in the colleges and universities of north America . The examinee reads several short passages that are dealing with various academic subjects. Every passage is followed by several questions related to the subject of the passage .

Measures to be taken into account at test hall

1- A test is taken in one session at the same time , data, and location stated in your own application from or it is announced by the instructor or the official of the Center who runs it . The examinee should be on time at the test hall. The time of the test is no more than two hours or less. The extra time is when the examinees enter the test hall and fill up the information of the answer sheet , or when the test tools are distributed  .

2- The examinees are not allowed to enter the test after it starts .

3- It is not allowed to bring any type of food (gum, cookies) to the test hall .

4-The noise or any type of bothering sounds are not allowed in the test .

5- Mobiles should be turned off before entering the test hall .

6- There is no break during the test .

What do you need at the test hall?

1- The ID or any other official document , otherwise , the examinee is not allowed to enter the test hall .

2- The test application form .

3- pencil , rubber , and pencil – sharpener .

4- The borrowing of test tool is not allowed in the test .

5- If you could not fill up your application form, you will be late in completing your test .

6- Expired IDs are not accepted in the test .

7- Pens or other colored pencils are not allowed to be used in the test .

8- Books , dictionaries , cameras , recording  sets are not allowed to enter to the test hall .Cheating is not accepted behavior.

The examinee's test is cancelled if he / she tries one of the following :

1- Taking the test or answer paper from the test hall .

 2- Entering the test hall instead of the real examinee .

3- Not following the instructors of the test supervisor .

4- Reading or answering in a section during time of another section and continuing the test after announcing that time is over .

5- Putting any marks , signs , or lines under words, or adding notes on the answer sheet or the test paper

6- Making noise or unaccepted behaviors .

7- Trying to cheat in any way .

Preparing and Entering the Test

There is no a special college , school , textbook , or any educational device that help prepare the individual for this test because the devices are not based or depend on a special field of education . The TOEFL ITP is  a test devoted to recognize the individual's efficiency and ability in English . This Linguistic efficiency is not gained except a relativity long period of study and practice .Thus, we find that studying English for the first time before a short time of the test will not be useful .On the day of the test , you will find a set of general instructions in addition to special directions for every section of the test .Every section contains a limited time . The test supervisor will instruct you the times of these sections and when you start and finish .Thus , when you finished one section earlier , you have to wait till the supervisor allow you answer the other section . When you answer in one section , you cannot return to the previous section as there is a specific time for every section of the test .A failure in following these instructions is a cheating and the examinee's test will be cancelled by test supervisor .When you start you answers , try to answer all the questions quickly ,but carefully . Do not waste time in answering one question and try to answer all the questions even if you guess the answer because the score will be counted according to the number of the right answered questions .
