The Faculty of Arts at the UOK recently held a one-day training course titled (Fires and Methods of Prevention).
The course was a collaborative work with the Directorate of Civil Defense in Najaf province.
The event attracted a large audience including a number of professors and students from the faculty.
The Dean’s Assistant, Dr. Abbas Al-Haidari, stated that the course included theoretical and practical training on fires, their types, and methods of prevention.
The lecture was presented by Captain Rabah Saeed Jafat, an employee at the Directorate of Civil Defense in the province.
Attendees were trained on the use of fire extinguishers, as well as dealing with the different types of fires according to their reasons.
Such courses are of benefit to the community, and students specifically, in teaching them how to deal with emergencies and dangerous situations so as to minimize potential human and material losses.
