On the occasion of the selecting 1440 A.H to be Imam Ali’s year, and within the pursuit of the Faculty of Engineering to find appropriate solutions to the problems facing the energy sector for the community welfare. The Electrical Engineering Department held a scientific symposium on clean energy and its activation in solving the problems of the energy sector in Iraq. The Dean of the Faculty, representatives of the province, some departments and institutions specialists interested in this sector attended it. The first lecture was delivered by the Director of the Information Technology and Research Center Dr. Essam Abdul Wahid Hashim in which he addressed the clean energy technologies and global trends in this respect. He also presented a feasible study for the electrical generation system of collected waste. The second one was given by the teaching staff member in the Department of Mechanical Engineering Dr. Ali Wadi, in which he dealt with the techniques of solar energy and activating them in Iraq by changing the policies of management of the clean energy sector to cope with the developed countries of the world.
