Abstract

In this study, the numerical analysis study of cutout size, shape, and number effect on the deflection and stresses in x and y-direction for simply and clamped supported boundary condition of cross and angle-ply laminated plate are presented. The shape for cutout studied are square, circular, and fillet cutout with different size for different aspect ratio effect of plate, AR=1 and 2. And camper between the effect of square and circular cutout on the deflection and stresses of cross-ply and angle-ply composite laminated plate, under uniform bending loading. The results of deflection and stresses of composite plate with cutout size, shape, and number effect studied by using numerical analysis with finite element method, by using of Ansys program Ver. 14. The results shown the amplitude values of square cutout are less than for other cutouts in cross-ply laminated plates and more than for other cutouts in angle-ply laminated plates for aspect ratio a/b=1, also the amplitude values of square cutout more than for circular cutout for laminated plates with aspect ratio a/b=2. And, the stresses of composite laminated plate increase with increases of cutout size, and the increasing of fillet radius decreasing the stresses of composite laminated plate.
