Abstract

In this work the possibility of using silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) as an alternative to fungicides controlling developmenttis carried out and investigated. Fungi samples are isolated from gypsum board which it seems infected with fungi. Wheat straw medium is considered as a trap for fungus Stachybotrys echinata. It is observed the S. echinata is more frequent and visible than other fungi on wheat straw medium. The AgNPs proved high efficiency to decrease growth of S. echinata by percentage of 93.6% in the concentration of 25 ppm; while 200 ppm of Ag NPs causes complete inhibition of growth of S. compared to a control group.
