Abstract

Abstract : This study was aimed to evaluate of acute effect of a single 30-minute session of water-pipe smoking on blood pressure and heart rate and spirometry in local volunteers .Lung function was measured by using lung function test apparatus ( Mini – Wright peak Flow Meter ) and Blood pressure was measured by sphygmomanometer for 40 volunteers age ( 25 + 3.2 year ) and height (168 + 4.9 Cm ) weight ( 66 + 15.1 Kg ). The results were showed a significant increase ( P > 0.05 ) of blood pressure ( systolic and diastolic pressure ) in smokers of water-pipe after single session of water-pipe smoking . Also results were revealed a significant increase ( P > 0.05 ) in heart rate in smokers of water-pipe after single session of water-pipe smoking .However results were revealed a significant decrease ( P > 0.05 ) in peak expiratory rate in smokers of water-pipe after single session of water-pipe smoking .
