For the first time at Iraqi Universities, UoK begins to use a system of having a central registry for its students. The University has taken all necessary procedures for this project as Dr.Ebtisam Al-Shimmary clarified. “The Project consists of establishing a data infrastructure that shall have all forms of information that concerns every student at every faculty saved in a system that will allow students to have a candidate number as a unique, solid and safe form of identity that puts an end to all the hassles faced and difficulties experienced using only paperwork and electronic data.
Dr Al-Shimmary also explained that this years students have been registered via this method at the Information and Research Center building where students would not need to consult the Faculties that concern them. This unique candidate number which would also be issued on a Identity Card given to the students means that all sorts of information such as attendance, absence, Examinations, results, consultations, reviews etc can be easily accessed in addition to the student himself through using this number can be aware of what data the University has of him in terms of administration.
