In the presence of a number of cultural, religious and academic figures, the UOK organized a Ramadan evening gathering which included a lecture entitled (The Future of Iraq after ISIS).
The lecture was presented by MP Dr. Ali Al-Shukri and MP Dr. Ibrahim Bahr Al-Ulum, as well as former Health Minister Saleh Hasnawi.
The topic of the lecture focused on the need for community-based reconciliation among all Iraqi sects in order to start a new page free from tension and sectarian conflicts.
Stressing that the liberation of Fallujah is the straw that broke the backbone of terrorism in Iraq and dropped all bets and plans of dividing Iraq which was suggested by US Vice-President Joe Biden.
The rector, Prof. Dr. Akeel Abed Yasseen, pointed out that the university takes advantage of such gatherings to connect with the community and develop appropriate solutions to the problems faced by citizens.
