Faculty of Basic Education holds its fourth scientific conference entitled:
Iraqi Child and Human Development
Reasons of the conference:
The child is a world of its own carries features of life in miniature so the childhood is considered to be the gravest period in the life of human beings. In this period most behaviors and habits are constructed and then the child’s personality is shaped determining the future of the generation and country in culture, ideology and politics.
Iraqi children have undergone successive crises for about forty years so about three generations of childhood have lived this crisis. The effects can be summarized as follows:
– Going down of the scientific level.
– Lack of a sense of the importance of infrastructure.
– The lack of a sense of patriotism and responsibility.
– Failure in strategic planning.
– Failure in respecting the law.
– Lack of attention to the physical and psychological health and social development.
The lack of attention in all these aspects makes children of Iraq undergo a lot of crises and difficulties: orphanhood, labor, exploitation, illiteracy, backwardness and others. They have not kept pace human development process as seen in other countries. For all these reasons, College of Basic Education at the University of Kufa holds its fourth international scientific conference entitled: Iraqi Child and Human Development (The conference will invite prominent figures specialized in childhood to propound their views, suggestions and appropriate solutions. First / objectives of the conference:
The conference seeks to achieve the following aims:
Aims of the Conference:
1 – Paying attention to issues of children in Iraq.
2 – Enhancing participation and partnership development among different state institutions as well as bodies and civil society organizations.
3 – Activating the exchange of local and international scientific expertise interested in children’s issues in Iraq and the future vision.
4 – Shedding light on the heritage and making it a source for Iraqi children’s culture and upbringing
5 – Addressing the challenges facing children in Iraq and finding appropriate solutions.
6 – paying attention to upbringing of the Iraqi children through mutual cooperation with social and academic institutions.
7 – Developing future visions for educating children of Iraq.
8 – Paying attention to guidance and psychological and educational counseling for children in Iraq.
