The President of the UOK, Prof. Dr. Akeel Abed Yasseen, recently opened the Quran Hall, Arabic Language Hall, and the Virtual Library at the UOK’s Central Library building, in the presence of a number of deans and figures. Dr. Yasseen stressed that the UOK seeks to advance the Central Library and sub-libraries at faculties through supporting them with thousands of books and publications that the university receives from institutions and holy thresholds. For his part, the Director of the Central Library, Dr. Tahseen Fathil, stated that the Central Library is relying on the Dewey Decimal Classification to classify its contents. As well as the adoption of a barcode system, which is a new method of transforming library books technically to a unified barcode for scientific and humanitarian books, leading to an easy access to the book. Furthermore, the Central Library announced that it is seeking to open a marketing center to display its contents and set up a permanent book exhibition in collaboration with Lebanese publishing houses.
