The Remote Sensing Center, at the UOK, actively participated in the Marine Science Conference which was held by the University of Basra.
The director of the center, Dr. Hussein Shakir Al-Bahrani, presented a research at the conference entitled “Use of Remote Sensing Technology in Water Management and Controlling its Quality”.
Dr. Al-Bahrani stated that the research aims at managing and controlling pollution and deterioration in rivers. Furthermore, it dealt with economic planning in the fields of agriculture and industry, depending on the water quality of river water.
He also pointed out that the conference recommended finding a means of cooperation between the Marine Science Center at the University of Basra and the Remote Sensing Center at the University of Kufa.
In addition to holding training courses for employees at the center in the field of remote sensing, and carrying out a monitoring system for territorial water, coastline, and marsh environments.
