The Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, at the UOK, welcomed a delegation from Kufa Youth Forum that is part of Najaf Directorate of Youth and Sports. The visit sought ways of cooperation between the two sides in the field of developing the skills of the Iraqi youth. The head of the Computer Department, Prof. Hind Rustum Shaban, stated that the aim of the meeting was to introduce the youth to the latest technological developments. As well as opening up the prospects of cooperation between the institutions of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the university, so as to begin developmental programs that pay attention to Iraqi youth. This is achieved through the organization of scientific and professional courses and holding educative meetings that help build the Iraqi citizen.

The visit included a tour around the faculty corridors and laboratories to inform members of the delegation about the possibilities that are available at the faculty, and its readiness to provide training and scientific courses.
