The Faculty of Arts at the UOK welcomed the representative of the United Nations Office in Iraq for International Organization Affairs, Dr. Geraldine Chaterlard. She met with the heads of the the Departments of Civil Society, History and Philosophy. The faculty’s scientific accomplishments and activities were displayed, those which qualify the UOK to win a seat in the UNESCO.
The visiting doctor commended the efforts made by the dean of the faculty and its professors to uplift the scientific, cultural and intellectual level for its students. Also, the faculty’s contribution to the service of Najaf province and Iraq generally, in addition to its role in graduating annual batches of students who are capable of using their expertise and efforts to serve their country, each according to their major.
The meeting also included the display of the most prominent conferences, symposiums and workshops which were held by the Faculty of Arts during the past years. Mainly, those which addressed the problems and negative phenomena that have plagued the Iraqi society.
