e Faculty of Medicine at the UOK, in collaboration with the Middle Euphrates Center for Neuroscience and the Scientific Council for Nervous System Medicine, organized the Fourth Scientific Symposium on the Latest Developments in Neurosciences. It was attended by professors and researchers from America, Iran and a number of Iraqi universities and research centers.
The head of the Middle Euphrates Center for Neuroscience, Dr. Haider Kathim Hasoon, stressed that the symposium aims at benefiting from the experiences of developed countries in this field. In addition to focusing on the most common diseases of the nervous system such as epilepsy and osteoporosis. He pointed out that neurological diseases are disorders of the brain or the spinal cord, and that the nerves spread around in the body control the body work. Also, in neurological diseases, many disorders in movement, speech, swallowing, breathing or even ability to learn, may occur. Such disorders also occur if there is a defect in the work of any part of the nervous system.
