In the presence of a number of academic and medical figures at the UOK and other universities, the Faculty of Pharmacy at the UOK held a scientific symposium under the title “The Reality of the Pharmaceutical Industry in Iraq”. The dean of the faculty, Dr. Shakir Shinawah, emphasized that the symposium aims at identifying the most important variables and factors that directly affect the manufacturing process of medicine in Iraq, including the challenges, threats, strengths and opportunities available for the advancement of this industry.
For his part, the President of the UOK, Prof. Dr. Akeel Abed Yaseen, confirmed that the symposium comes within the university’s policy to transform into a productive university. He added that the university is seeking to open a factory for manufacturing medicine in the coming period, hoping to benefit from the experience of developed countries.
The symposium was attended by the dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Kafr Al-Sheikh in Egypt, Dr. Nabil Muty, who presented a lecture about the reality of the pharmaceutical industry and the impact of the investment on the revitalization of the industry.
