A delegate from the General Secretariat of the Holy Kufa Mosque visited the UOK to discuss ways to cooperate with the university in scientific and cultural fields, in addition to the formation of a coordination committee that organizes the cultural and scientific work between the two parties.
Prof. Dr. Assad Al-Janaby, the scientific assistant to the president of the UOK, stressed the need to develop the university relations with the holy sites in a way that is commensurate with the privacy of the UOK, since it was the cradle of religious movements and graduated many scientists and thinkers such as the martyr Mr. Mohammed Al-Sadr and Sheikh Ahmed Al-Waeli. Mr. Al-Janaby added that “The university was separate from the religious atmosphere of Najaf city at the time of the former regime. So now we have to activate the cooperation between it and religious institutions in order to ensure the preservation of students from the deviant currents that have begun to sweep the country.”
The members of the delegation expressed that the General Secretariat of the mosque was looking forward to use the academic expertise and take advantage of them in all fields.
