Meanwhile, Dr. Sundus Yaseen Hassan from the Faculty of Education for Girls won second place in the mathematics major for her marked research entitled (Studying the Polyhedral Zarnik Limits in a Circle Radius of One Unit). The research studies the polyhedral Zarnik limits with the kartezih and polar coordinates. It concluded that these variables represent an integrated basis, and are perpendicular with one another and calibrator.
The Higher Education Award for Science is the first of its kind in Iraq, developed by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to encourage the scientific research movement and enrich the efforts of the Iraqi researchers. More than 300 researchers from various Iraqi universities participated taking into consideration a number of standards as the basis for the preference. These included the impact factor of the scientific magazine in which the scientific research was published, the economic benefit envisaged from the scientific research, and the scientific value of the research. Awards were distributed to six basic sciences which are (Mathematics, Chemistry , Physics, Earth and Environmental Science, Life Sciences, and Nanotechnology), in condition that the Award includes the Medical, Humanitarian, and Managerial sciences in the coming years.
It is worth noting that the UOK prioritized the promotion of the scientific research movement as a core mission for universities. This is due to the fact that these researches provide solutions and recommendations to figuring out the problems of society and preparing the scientific base before state officials and the private sector in order to put together the development plans.
