A scientific team from Department of Physics – Faculty of Sciences – University of Kufa has successfully managed to prepare ultra thin layers of copper sulfide and zinc sulfide using chemical bath method. This discovery was for the first in time in our university.
The researcher, Mr. Mustafa Dheya Ja’afar – Team member, has stressed that this study was including the preparation of thin films of two compounds in three different concentrations. He also added that the experimental results showed that the production of a conductive films of copper sulfide films which could be used to improve the efficiency of solar cells, coatings and optical sensors.
Mr. Ja’afar added the experiments related to zinc sulfide proved that nano crystallized membranes with relatively large energy gap. Such membranes could be used in the production of photo-emission diodes of blue lights, large screens and anti – freezing windows.
The researcher Mustafa Dheya J’aafar presented this study as part of his M.Sc. stydy in physics. The title of his thesis is (structural and optical properties of sulfide copper and zinc sulfide thin membranes prepared by using chemical bath method).
