The UOK celebrated the graduation of its newest batch of students, Batch Peace and Development.
The event was held at Kufa Stadium in the presence of a number of prominent religious, cultural and academic figures, as well as the parents of the graduate students.
The representative of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Salah Al-Naimi, stated that the Iraqi universities seek to supplement the state sectors with the youth whom carry bothscience and knowledge.
He pointed out that this batch has graduated in exceptional circumstances suffered by the country due to the immigration experienced by thousands of families.
This was caused by the terrorist attack launched by the terrorists ISIS on some Iraqi provinces leading to the immigration of hundreds of students from western provinces.
For his part, the President of the UOK, Prof. Dr. Akeel Abed Yaseen, confirmed that the university is celebrating the graduation of 4165 students from 18 out of 21 faculties in both morning and evening studies.
The ceremony included the distribution of gifts to students top of their faculties, as well as showcasing the graduates and passing on the flag to the next batch, bearing the number 26.
