The UOK celebrated the opening ceremony of Iraq’s Office after being chosen a permanent member in the International Council for Health, Physical Education, Recreational Sports and Kinetic Expression.
The office headquarters was established at the Faculty of Education for Girls, under the agreement between head of the council Dr. Adel Al-Nashar and the UOK.
It was signed upon during the participation of Dr. Aqeel Al-Araji in the activities of the Fifty-Sixth Conference held in Bahrain, making Iraq the first Arab and Middle-Eastern country to open this office.
Dr. Aqeel Al-Araji, the dean’s assistant for administrative affairs at the Faculty of Education for Girls and the director of the office in Iraq, stated that the opening of the office is a national achievement for Iraq in general and at the same time an international accomplishment for the UOK, which has only recently also acquired the UNESCO Chair.
This great accomplishment will contribute to improving Iraqi sports and supporting athletes, as well as making way for the exchange of ideas and experiences between athletes, professionals, researchers and specialists in other countries that are members in the council.
It is worth noting that the International Council for Health, Physical Education, Recreational Sports and Kinetic Expression has offices in Asia, the Caribbean, Africa, Latin America , and the council’s headquarters in Virginia, USA.
