The Quran Competition, which took place during the activities of the UOK’s Seventh Cultural Week, has recently been finalized. The competition was held in collaboration with the Secretariat of Kufa Mosque at the holy shrine of the Companion Hani Ibn Urwa.
The head of the organizing committee for the week, Mr. Hadi Hanoon, stated that a number of literary, religious, and academic figures were present at the event. A number of students from Iraqi universities and institutes participated in the competition which tested participants skills in memorization, conservation and recitation. First place winner was the student Qasim Yasub from the University of Babylon. The runner-up was Ahmed Hashim Al-Zamily, a student from the UOK. While third place was taken up by the student Hassan Alaa from the University of Babylon.
