The UOK Council proudly held an exceptional meeting under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Mahdi Al-Sahlawi, Vice-President of Administrative Affairs at the UOK, to announce the recent great achievement of the university. The university ranked (701) as one of the best (800) global universities.
Al-Sahlawi stated that the university’s inclusion in this ranking is an achievement in itself, in addition to competing with some of the finest local and global universities. For his part, Dr. Mohsen Al-Abadi, Vice-President for Scientific Affairs, pointed out that the university is currently ranked within the 701 class with Ohio and Kentucky universities in the US, Tokyo and many international universities. He stressed that the university’s ambition in the next year will be in the 500 class of global universities.
The Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Dr. Abbas Al-Abody mentioned that the classification relied upon the scientific publishing standards, international relations and foreign students, explaining that the UOK is the first Iraqi University to occupy this rank.
