A delegation from the British Cultural Council visited the UOK and met with its rector, Prof. Dr. Akeel Abed Yasseen, to discuss collaboration plans. The two parties sought the possibilities of developing the educational process and benefiting from the expertise of discreet British universities.
Dr. Yasseen presented an explanation about the UOK, its faculties, research centers and outstanding acheivements. He also mentioned the fact that the university has assumed a leading position among Iraqi universities, as well as acquiring the UNESCO Chair for Interreligious Dialogue Studies in the Islamic World.
For its part, the guest delegation expressed its willingness to open the doors of cooperation with the UOK, in addition to increasing the number of scholarships and fellowships for postgraduate students at the UOK. Furthermore, they agreed on activating the agreements of understanding that were signed with British universities.
