The President of the UOK, Prof. Dr. Akeel Abed Yasseen, warmly welcomed a delegation from the local community. The delegation, which included several respected figures and activists, sought to actively engage university professors in upcoming symposiums and seminars that are to be held by local institutes in the days to come. Theses activities are put together in order to find the suitable solutions for problems facing citizens.
For his part, the President expressed the willingness of the university and its professors to take part in such inclusive activities that play a role in building the country, as well as laying out solutions to the problems facing the community. Such problems include water scarcity and dehydration of agricultural crops due to the uneven quantities of water allocated by the government. Furthermore, the President made note of the fact that the university has prioritized the acceptance and admission of students from provinces subjected to war, particularly from the Universities of Mosul and Anbar, till they are safely cleared from the terrorist groups of ISIS.
