A delegation from the Iranian University of Ameer Kabeer, headed by Dr. Tusi, Vice-president for Scientific Affairs, visited the UOK. The delegation sat-down with the President of the UOK, Prof. Dr. Akeel Abed Yasseen, and discussed the possibilities of scientific cooperation between the two sides, as well as exchanging visits, attending conferences and supervising the researches of postgraduate students. Dr. Yasseen presented a detailed explanation about the university, its (21) faculties, and the various agreements signed with a number of international renown universities, including some Iranian universities. He also pointed out that the UOK has opened-up to governmental institutions and departments so as to provide its services and resolve problems faced by citizens. Dr. Yasseen stressed on the universities many scientific accomplishments including its recent acquisition of the UNESCO Chair for the Development of Interreligious Dialogue Studies in the Islamic World, which seeks to spread the culture of tolerance and acceptance of others and reject sectarianism.
