Dr. Ahmed Bahaa, lecturer from the Faculty of Education at the UOK, recently took part in the International Conference of the Higher Institute of the Near East Civilizations held at Zagazig University in the Republic of Egypt.
His contribution was a research paper entitiled (The People of Mesopotamia and their Role in Building the Foundations of the Ancient Iraqi Civilization).
The researcher pointed out in his paper that the civilization which rose from the Tigris and Euphrates river basin was the creativity of many people who have combined their efforts in building the foundations of the ancient civilization, while the majority is linked back to the Sumerians.
The research concluded that the most important characteristic of the the people of Mesopotamia is writing and education, as well as agriculture, industry and the practice of religious rites.
Dr. Bahaa mentioned that the conference witnessed the participation of several international researchers from European and Arab countries.
