The Faculty of Education for Girls, at the UOK, took part in the activities of the Fifty-Sixth International Conference of the International Council for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, Sports and Kinetic Expression, which was held in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Dr. Aqeel Al-Araji, head of the Iraqi Office for the International Council of Health and Education, participated in the conference by presenting two scientific researches, one dealing with volleyball and the other with tennis.
While Dr. Saad Aziz Hiswa addressed the impact of university sports and sport organizations on peaceful coexistence and prevention of violence and terrorism.
Near the conclusion of the conference, the Iraqi delegation visited the Bahrain Olympic Committee, Faculties of Physical Education in Bahrain and a number of sports cities and institutions.
The visit included several meetings which resulted in agreements and understandings, between the two countries, for the development of the sports reality.
It is also worth stating that the conference witnessed the participation of more than (80) countries and (220) academic researchers, noting that Iraq’s participation was the biggest among the participating countries.
